Each Tuesday morning you get one email and one spreadsheet: every construction license Florida DBPR issued in the previous seven days — roughly 250 to 350 new license records a week — 252 in the sample week below, split 135 individual certifications and 117 newly qualified businesses — with the business name, license type, city and county, issue date and a one-line note on why the row matters, grouped by territory. New license applications on file are added as the weekly comparison comes online.

What the timing means — F.S. §489.115

Florida requires an insurance affidavit — general liability, property damage, and workers' compensation or exemption — as a prerequisite for license issuance. A license issued last week means minimum coverage was just placed (often online, at state minimums of $300k/$50k or $100k/$25k). A newly qualified business is a new entity that carries its own policy. Either way you know the account, the trade, the county and, usually, the renewal month.

How it works

  1. DBPR publishes its construction licensee and applicant files under Chapter 119. We pull them every Tuesday morning.
  2. Licenses dated in the last seven days are pulled, every record is classified (company license, individual qualifying a business, individual without a business), and the applicant register is compared with last week's snapshot so only genuinely new applications appear.
  3. Before anything is sent, the run must pass automated checks — file size, dates, duplicate and match anomalies, region totals — or it does not go out.
  4. You receive one email grouped by territory and county, plus the CSV for your CRM.
  5. Reply to any digest to change regions or stop. No contracts.

Questions agencies ask

Where does the data come from?
Directly from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation's public-records extracts, refreshed weekly. Nothing is scraped from people-search sites or social networks.
Are phone numbers included?
Not in the current edition. DBPR's applicant register contains phone numbers, but we do not distribute them until the applicability of Florida's Telephone Solicitation Act (F.S. 501.059) to this product is resolved. Every record carries the business name, license number and location you need to look a company up.
Aren't they already insured if the license was issued?
Usually yes — at state minimums, often bought online in a hurry. That is the rewrite and upgrade conversation (contract limits, completed operations, WC when they hire), and the issue date tells you the renewal month. Qualified-business rows are new entities that need their own policies. Some licensees are qualifying an existing company; the business name column makes that obvious.
Can't I download this from DBPR myself?
Yes. The raw files are public — a 45 MB licensee file and a 104,000-row cumulative applicant register with no dates. What you are paying for is the weekly comparison, the classification, the territory grouping, the automated quality checks and a report that is in your inbox by 9 a.m. Tuesday. If you would rather do that yourself, you should.
